terminal's word looks already did, rather than stacking another
Each word looked at with LookWord list opened a +Search of its own in
the same directory. Word looks now share the directory's one, the next
word refilling it; a `/` search still keeps a +Search each.

restored terminal draws its graphics as glyph art again
An image pane's Petscii choice was dumped; a terminal's was not, so a
Restore brought it back drawing pixels. dump.Terminal carries petscii,
and a restored terminal is turned to glyph art when it was.

language first, so a rename reaches files it had not seen and the preview lists them
zls renames only in the documents in its store, and syncDoc told it of
a file only when a query was asked from it, so renaming in progress.zig
left main.zig unchanged and broken, with no preview. For a query whose
answer can reach other files (rename, references, implementation,
workspace symbols, calls and type hierarchy), the host snapshots every
other open file and the client syncs those its server answers for
first. The mock server answers a rename in each document it was told
of; lsp-rename-files opens main.rs by a look, renames from lib.rs, and
its preview lists both.

without its +New scratch, as nested.golden no longer does
The long-standing failure was the golden alone. Its tags read the
words of an older release (NextColor, Togglettymode, no Delcol) and
its boots had no +New scratch under the terminal, both of which
boot.golden and nested.golden, recorded since, already show. The
nested editor's own behaviour, a --nested launch opening inside the
pane rather than forwarding, is unchanged in the new capture.

pane in the session's directory, never typed into the terminal with the keyboard
A command clicked in a header tag, or written to /tagexec or a
column's exec, was typed into the active terminal when it sat at an
empty prompt, so it ran in that pane's directory and left no run or
exit record. It now always gets a command pane of its own in the
session's directory, as acme's row and column tags have no directory
but the session's. tags.md writes the rule down: pane words act on the
column's active pane, a column's words on the column, shell commands
as their own panes, and over 9P a pane's word is refused.

The Shift that sends B2 or B3 is left out of their reports and of the

Presses and releases under 1000, drags with a button down under 1002,
every move once per cell under 1003, X10 presses under 9, in raw terminal
input only. A press the program took keeps its drag and release, reported
clamped to the grid's edge wherever the pointer goes. The press also makes
the pane the active one. docs/tags.md says so.

new line, the line itself
In a diff pane (a .diff/.patch file, or a command pane's diff output), the
look's own expansion, which its hover shows, takes a whole line for a
`diff --git`, `---`, `+++` or `@@` line wherever the pointer is on it,
markers included, and for a hunk line when the pointer is on its `+`, `-`
or space. Then the look opens the file (a/ b/ dropped, timestamps cut) at
the line from the hunk header and the lines above it: `@@` the hunk's
first new line, context and added lines their own, a removed line the new
line now where it was. `diff --git` and `+++` open the new file; `---` the
old one, unless the `+++` under it names another. On a hunk line's code
the expansion is its words, the prefix never one of them, and looks as
ever. Other panes are untouched.
Paths resolve in the repository (walking up to `.git` or `.jj` from the
diff's directory, or a command pane's), then that directory. A file not
here opens nothing and says `Look: b/x: no such file here`, or `deleted by
this diff`. A 9P look writing a whole line of the diff does the same.

and removed rows tinted
A .diff or .patch pane, and a command pane whose output is a diff (`git
diff`, `git show`, `diff -u`; told by a `diff --git` line, or `---`/`+++`
with a `@@` under them, in its first rows), colour each hunk's code in the
language of the file its section names (`+++ b/<path>`, `--- a/<path>` for
a deleted file), with tree-sitter, as highlightLocations does for results.
src/diff.zig walks a unified diff by its `@@` counts, so a removed line
that reads `--- x` is no header. Each side of a hunk is parsed as one text
(context and removed lines the old side, context and added lines the new),
so a string or comment across lines colours as it does in the file; a side
no line takes its colours from is not parsed. A section's hunks share a
parse, in pieces of about 40 lines (a hunk past 80 is cut), only those in
view, and each piece's colours are kept by its bytes, so scrolling back and
a terminal's every repaint parse nothing again.
Added and removed lines carry a flag in their style byte; the painter tints
their rows to the pane's edge, a little way from the page toward the
theme's ANSI green or red, and draws the prefix in that hue pushed to read
on it. A file in no known language keeps the old line colours.
A command pane is read once its command has finished: its rows are copied
once (File.DiffOutput, dropped when the pane runs again), so no frame dumps
the scrollback, and painted over what git printed. A running command is
shown as it prints.

takes the moment it is drawn
lspcomplete failed once in a full parallel snap run with ExpectFailed
after 22 s. Its `wait 15000 +Search` for the first completion ran out
while a zls slowed by the loaded machine had not answered yet. Alone it
takes 2.2 s. A wait returns as soon as its needle is drawn, so the four
waits for zls's `+Search` now allow 60 s, and the settles after them 30 s:
free when zls is quick, room when it is not. It passes 3 of 3 alone and 3
of 3 with every core busy.

its file-name shadow
No dot grid under the text and no stripes behind the focused tag; every colour, the gold frames and vermilion shadows of the plaques, the rules, the scroll column's checker and the title shadow stay lapis's. It follows lapis in the ring and the Themes picker.

Every other generated pane is named `<dir>/+<Name>`: +New, +Errors, the
outputs. Tutor alone was a bare `/Tutor`, a real path at the root, so a Save
would try to write there, and /index listed it as if it were a file. A scan
of the other generated panes found no other bare absolute name. The three
snapshot goldens that show the Tutor tag were re-recorded by name (tutor,
builtins, leader).

workspace tag reads Dump Themes Config Debug Exit
Config (SPC f c) opens init, found as the settings report finds it
(opts.startup_config_path: $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/pardes/init or
~/.config/pardes/init, and the macOS and Windows paths config.md gives). A
pane that already holds it is gone to instead; a file on disk is looked at;
with none, an empty pane is named for it, and Save makes its directory and
any above it first (File.make_dirs, fs.makeDirs) before writing. Without a
configuration directory it says so and opens nothing.
The report Config used to open, the startup path and every live setting, is
DumpConfig, in a +DumpConfig pane. No alias keeps the old meaning.
The workspace tag's default words put Themes where NextColor was, NextColor
staying a builtin, and Config beside it. A tag the user edited is kept as it
was: a dump stores only an edited one (topbar_custom), and a restore puts
back only that.
theme.snap types NextColor onto the workspace tag to click it, and tagnav's
walk back to Dump takes five long-word steps. The rest of the re-recorded
goldens differ in the workspace words and their widths only.

for what it swept, as a pane tag's does
Both headers acted on the press: a middle or right press ran, or looked
for, the word under it (or the header's selection when it was on that) at
once, so a drag had nothing left to do. A sweep of `echo SWEPT` in a column
tag ran a bare `echo`. They have done so since the headers were drawn apart
from the panes; it is no regression, and the -l/Restore allocator fix
(ompukopz) does not touch it.
Now a press on a header holds a HeaderSweep (the column by its serial, or
the workspace), which the drag extends, held to the header's row and text
as a pane tag's sweep is. It is painted in its button's tint meanwhile, and
the release runs what it swept in that header's context; a release that has
not moved runs the word or selection a click always did. The other of
middle and right cancels it (acme 2-3/3-2); the select button is inert, as
a header's command already takes the held selection as its argument.
Running on the release, a builtin from a header is announced as one from a
pane tag is: the press used to set the announcement and the release clear it
at once. find, restore, theme, topbarexec, ttyhelp, tutor and windowops
re-recorded for that badge alone.
headersweep.snap sweeps the column and workspace tags with the middle
button and a word part with the right one, and cancels a sweep;
headersweep-restored.snap sweeps both after Dump and Restore.

other language does: the in-process ZLS backend goes
lsp_zls.zig (1,522 lines), the zls dependency, build.zig's zls wiring and the import graph it baked into the options only for it, and main.zig's reference go. lsp_client's table gains a zls row (PARDES_LSP_ZIG overrides it); Hover, Rename, Diagnostics, WsSymbols, Lspinfo and gd answer through it (checked with lspprobe and the snapshots against zls 0.16.1-dev). What changes for a user: zls must be on PATH; a completion's rows are zls's candidates at the cursor, where the linked analyser gave each one's declaration; document symbols carry no signature. The Zig snapshots (lsp, lspcomplete, lspcompletemoved, lspdebug, lsprelpath) run the real zls now: lspdebug reads the client's explain and report, lsprelpath spells gr's rows where it spelled a completion's, and their goldens are recorded again (stable over three runs). Lspinfo still opens with its backend line. The ReleaseFast tty binary is 105.35 MB to 96.28 MB, the Debug one 296.5 MB to 245.9 MB. docs/lsp.md, web.md, design.typ and the README say so.

DMedblue #000099
acme tints nothing in a tag, but the tint is a pardes indicator the user
wants in every theme. #000099 is acme's own (draw.h DMedblue, its dirty
button): a navy that reads as ink until you look for it.

every theme draws a file's name, a +Name and the Tty word off the tag's ink
The faithful ports (neobones_dark, dracula, tokyonight, the *bones, ...),
every helix import and any theme file set no tag_name_fg, and ChromeTheme
fell back to the plain ink: their tags lost the accent the pardes themes
have. The user's neobones_dark looked tinted before only because the Sep 24
build had no such theme and fell back to orchard.
The tint is now derived when unset: the theme's keyword colour, else the
first of its ANSI accents, syntax, grip, selection or diagnostic colours
with a hue, placed at the lightness nearest the ink where the hue holds,
at least 4.5:1 on its ground (half a point under the ink's own where the
ink has less to spare) and 0.07 off the ink in OKLab. Each ground, plain and
focused, gets its own. A theme that names its tint keeps it exactly.
Tests: every theme's chrome keeps both tints off the ink and legible; every
theme draws a file's basename, +Errors and Tty+sh in a tint, focused or not.

The ENOENT that 9ns reads from a failure's words came from a tacked-on suffix, grep: no match, not found, definition: nothing found, not found, no shell "x", not found. They now say it once: grep: pattern not found, find: name not found, Callers: callers not found, definition: not found, shell "x" not found (...).

came from
Once the workspace tag was edited, its own text kept the Restore <path> of the dump at that time, stale after the next Dump; and a Restore dropped the path altogether (the new session had no last dump). A new dump now swaps the old path in the tag's own text, and a Restore points the word at the dump it read.

room fails, and so does a write to an image's or PDF's body
Callers or Callees with nothing found, Hover or Lspwhy with no room for its pane, and a question asked of no file's pane said nothing, the 9P write succeeding; a body write to an image or PDF pane went nowhere. A write that asks a language server now waits for its answer (turn.lsp_answers), and what fails there -- nothing found, no answer, a backend's @none why, a placement with no room (ENOSPC) -- fails the write and logs its err. No diagnostics is said, not failed.

files and dumps
The user asked for the plainer words. Every use is renamed: the
builtins, leader paths, /commands, the docs and tutor, tests, and the
themesel golden, re-recorded. An init file's ThemeSel or FontSel runs
the new word and says `ThemeSel: renamed to Themes`, as ColumnTags is
said; a dump naming an output pane by the old word restores it.

Each Grep with a new pattern opened another +Search, until the column
refused panes. Find and Grep now reuse their directory's one, as acme
reuses +Errors, and the exec reads back the pane it filled; a plain

A native theme `lapis` (src/themes/lapis.zig) from web/theme/lapis.css:
a lapis-deep page, lapis tags with gold names, vellum text, vermilion
rubrics, gold rules and a vermilion tag rule, gold selection in lapis ink.
Its ornament is the theme's new `decor` (colors.Decor), drawn by a pixel
shell inside the chrome it already has (decision 1), all of it off every
focus indicator:
- page_dots: the site's gold dot grid (#e8c46a22, 22 px), drawn by the
cell shader on page-coloured cells alone (flag 0x10000000), so it lies
under the text and never under a selection, a tag or the cursor; fixed
to the window, a page the panes lie on.
- rail_checker: the dither frame's gold and lapis checker in the scroll
track (a decor kind, flag 0x08000000), anchored to its rail; the thumb
stays solid gold.
- tag plaques (tag_border, tag_shadow, tag_stripe): every tag a raised
plaque inside its own band, the site's trail: a 2px gold frame and a
hard 5px vermilion shadow down and right, both within the band's rows
and columns (down, what the slack under the text leaves), so no shadow
reaches a body, a grip or the next pane. The focused pane's plaque is
the code window's title bar, gold and lapis stripes of 2px, its words
on plates of the focused ground; unfocused ones are plain; column and
workspace tags take the object-label language (1px frame, 2px shadow
toward the page). Drawn as decor under the cells (a group's under
range), with blank tag cells see-through and the cells blended
premultiplied (pipeline_over) on such frames; opaque windows only.
- title_shadow: the titles' vermilion offset shadow under a file name's
letters, sampled in the cell shader inside the letters' own cells (flag
0x08000000), none on a cursor.
Chrome carries the decor (decor_*, name_ink, active_name_ink); a theme
file folds a nested decor literal field by field. Left out, with why, in
docs/effects.md: the fonts, the ornaments, a decor crossfade, and in the
tty anything but the colours (a tag row has no spare cell for a shadow).
An empty column is the page. The effect id is masked to 27 bits (ui.vert/ui.frag) for the
fifth flag.
Tests: the cell flags land only on page ground and file-name cells, never
a cursor, nothing without decor; lapis's plaques stay inside their tag's
band, clear of every grip, only the focused one striped; its checker is in
the track; no other theme draws any; the separator and focus
tests cover lapis. Goldens: theme and themesel (the ring gains lapis after
acme). Gates as G4. Feel review: .scratch/render/lapis/ (lapis.png, lapis-2x.png,
tags-focused-vs-unfocused-2x.png, a PanelSlide at 60 fps and a quarter).

separators and focus tints
Density: dp() in gui.zig draws every size given in pixels in logical
pixels (SDL's window display scale, rounded, at least one), as acme scales
Border, ButtonBorder and Scrollgap: the rules (rule_px), the tag rule, the
grip's ring, its dirty gap and mode bars, the rail's gap to the text and
its minimum, the thumb's inset, the rim, a bar cursor's minimum width,
underline and strikethrough thickness (the atlas is dropped on a scale
change), the rule-grab margin, and the Crt's scanline and mask periods
(pardesScale in the post prefix). Cell- and tagline-measured sizes stay:
the rail's width, Lift's blur and offsets, every motion; iResolution,
fragCoord and iMouse stay in the display's pixels, as ghostty's.
PARDES_TEST_SCALE forces a density in a harness (a test window is 1x
otherwise, whatever display it lands on) and sizes the test font with it.
Colours: a separator that stands off its page by less than 1.5:1 is lifted
toward the text to 1.6:1 (helix, atelier, paper; a theme with no page,
dark, is judged against #121212), and empty_col follows it. forge's own
rule already stands at 3.83:1; what hid it was density: 2 device pixels
on a 3x screen, now 6 (dp). A focused tag's tint closer than 1.5:1 to the
plain tag on a dark page (1.25:1 on a light one) is pushed further the way
it leans, as far as its text keeps its own contrast or 4.5: forge
1.23 -> 1.51 (#2d3440 -> #374253), and likewise dusk, orchard, ink,
lagoon, clay, harvest, spectrum, solarium, forge_soft; daybreak, atelier,
paper to 1.25. dark and helix gain a tint of their own (dark: #484566
under #c8c8c8, 1.54:1; helix: ramp 237 under 250, 1.65:1).
Tag caret: past a full row's end, the G3 glide box sits on the tag's right
edge, where the layer's caret and the pixel shell's are.
Tests: every native theme's separator >= 1.5 and every dark one has a
tint >= 1.25 with readable text; forge keeps its own border; the tag caret
glide box at a full row; at 2x the spine, tag rule, ring, rail start and
gap, and bar cursor double. Legacy-ThemeFile test strips helix's new pair.
Goldens: snapshot goldens change in colour rows only, the tints (orchard
#283a2f -> #314738 at boot, forge, helix and dark in theme/themesel).
GUI goldens: the harness's single Del of the renamed wide pane is refused
since ysqnkyoy (a rename counted as unsaved; fixed on the 9P line in
wkzlsqvy), so scenes 09-17 were recorded with that pane open and the file
was stale since the merge (08 and 18 also moved with ykvnltvs's full-row
tag wrap). The goldens here were recorded with that pane closed (as
wkzlsqvy will close it); against the parent's binary under the same
conditions they differ only in the tints: 01-13 forge's (#2d3440 ->
#374253, and the glyph edges on it), 14 ink's; 15-18 are byte-identical.
Until wkzlsqvy is merged, a run here fails 09-17. Each commit reproduces its own
recorded goldens on this machine (checked at kvtmqkyn). A test window is
1x unless PARDES_TEST_SCALE says otherwise, whatever display it opens on.
Prebuilt shaders refreshed from their sources.
Captures: .scratch/render/dark-borders/{before,after,compare,scale2,scale3}.

smaller window
A terminal of one body row loses its prompt's mark and reads busy for
ever. Placement already refused to make one that short; now layout never
leaves one there either: a grip drag stops at the floor, and a column
squeezed by weights or by the window takes the rows from its other panes.
Text panes keep acme's way and can still be dragged to their tag, since
acme has no terminals to follow. The shrinktag, splitparent and cornerdrag
goldens are re-recorded for it, shrinktag's re-grab moved to where the
grip now is.

A +Search row for a pane with no path (a terminal's), a jump list row and
a line-number look said @p<slot>, the pane's place in the core's table,
which no client can see. They now say @p<serial>, and @p resolves a
serial. Re-recorded by name, their diffs checked: jumps, ttylook and
psearch (whose waits now say @p1) for @p<serial>, and with them argv,
nested, reflow, tinywin, ttyhelp and ttyonly for the boot scratch now
named <cwd>/+New (the change before).

A plain word looked at (a look write, a right click, an ML record written
back) opened another identically named +Search pane each time, until the
panes ran out, and never wrapped. As acme's look3 searches the text for
it (look.c:210), it now selects the word's next place in that pane after
the dot, wrapping at the end, and opens nothing. LookWord list, a new
root setting, keeps the +Search listing (search is the default); the
rsearch snapshot and an output test that walk the listing say LookWord
list. (The leader-path check over every builtin gets a comptime
branch quota, as one more builtin took the GUI build past the default.)

A watched file rewritten on disk was loaded over a buffer's unsaved edits
and its dirty flag cleared, so Exit and Del no longer asked about them. A
clean buffer still reloads; one with edits keeps its text and stays dirty,
says <file> changed on disk (get reloads it, Save overwrites it), logs
changed <serial>, and its Save warns once before overwriting the newer
file, as acme's Put refuses a file modified since read (exec.c:577); get
asks as ever (winclean, exec.c:513). The restored-watch test's dirty case
now keeps the snapshot, and the filewatch snapshot script (re-recorded
by name) checks both halves: the edited pane keeps its edit and says so,
the clean one reloads.

A directory passes access(X_OK), so Tty /etc made a pane whose shell
exited 127 and Shell /etc was taken. The shell lookup now refuses a
directory, and both say "not a shell: /etc is a directory" (Tty and
Shell share one refusal, host_io.Shell.refusal). shellset's golden takes
the shared wording (re-recorded by name).

Shell took any word and the host quietly ran another shell at the next
spawn. It now refuses a path or name that is not executable ("Shell: x:
no executable by that name", failing a ctl write, logged err), a bare
Shell goes back to the default, and a default $SHELL that is not
executable falls back to /bin/sh. shellset's golden takes the refusal on
the message row (re-recorded by name).

Placement could split a pane down to a tag and one row, or give a new one
less. Every placement now checks the pane it made and each pane it shrank
against its tag (wrapped at its width) plus two rows: where they lack the
room, the column's tallest pane is halved instead, and where none can give
it the new pane is refused with "no space for a pane in that column"
(ENOSPC over 9P) and closed at the step's end, once its maker is done with
it. splitBelow and splitParent leave two body rows (a boot layout, split
before any row exists, is as before). Re-recorded by name: lookpanes (panes
one or two rows lower) and splitparent (the 6-row squeeze now refuses);
fs.py closes the scratches and long-named panes it no longer needs, since
its 24-row session filled.

With no Shell set, pardes ran fish, which a box may not have and a user
may not use. The default is now the user's login shell ($SHELL), else
/bin/sh; an explicit Shell still overrides it. The tests pin their own
shell (snapshots bash, the python suites /bin/sh or bash) and pass with
SHELL unset; the Config report and docs say where the default comes from.

A script could read and write a column's tag but not act on the column.
col/<serial>/ctl takes Delcol, Joincol, New and Tty, each acting on that
column as from its tag; col/<serial>/exec runs a word as a middle click in
the tag; rmdir col/<serial> closes an empty column and refuses one with
panes (ENOTEMPTY, an err record saying why). The root ctl's refusal of
Delcol and Joincol points at col/<serial>/ctl. A dump keeps each column's
serial and Restore logs restoredcol <old> <new>; the dump golden gains
them. Documented: Joincol's survivor, the column on the right, keeps its
serial and tag.

A press on a pane's last row began a seam drag, so the row could not be
clicked or swept like the rest of the text (rsearch dragged the handle out
of the way first). Now no row of text is a handle: in the GUI a press on
the 2 px rule between two panes drags their seam, and anywhere the grip
does, as acme's button moves a window -- dragged up or down its own column
it moves the pane's top, either pane down to its tag alone (acme's
coldragwin), dragged down inside itself too. The hover hint over a last row
is gone; column edges resize as they did. Scripts that dragged a seam drag
a grip instead and match their goldens; six goldens lost the hint or moved a
cursor to the clicked text, re-recorded by name.

A session running with Placement pardes came back from Restore as acme: a
dump kept the layout and the theme but no setting. It now keeps every
setting line that differs from a fresh session's, as the root ctl reads it,
and a Restore applies them; the theme stays where it was kept, the font the frontend's,
and REPL bindings are still dropped. The dump golden gains the three the
snapshot harness sets.

Tags wrapped one cell early to keep a cell for the caret past a full row,
so a tag that exactly filled its column broke as De / l. acme's frame wraps
a box only when it is wider than what the row has left, and frptofchar
clamps the tick past a full line's end to the frame's edge. Tags now wrap
at their full width; the caret past a full row sits at the tag layer's
edge, and on the pane's last cell in a terminal grid, which has none past
it. Two tiny-screen tests collapse their tags, as the others do, and the 41
goldens that moved were re-recorded by name after the same check: rows
shift back up under the shorter tags and nothing else changes. chordcut's
file-body clicks moved back with them.

rules
acme takes plan9port's own colours (acme.c iconinit, draw.h): selections
#eeee9e in the body and #9eeeee in the tag, black ink; exec and look sweeps
#aa0000 and #006600, white ink; a #99994c scrollbar under a #ffffea thumb;
black rules; a #8888cc tag/body rule and column button.
Every theme: the grip is acme's button, its tag row's full height, in one
scroll column with the scrollbar (rail_px, 12 at a 17px tagline, scaled,
times GripWidth, a percent, default 150; same x0/x1 to the pixel):
focused clean = solid box; focused dirty = box_dirty filled to a box ring
(acme's modbutton); unfocused clean = a box_border ring round the tag's
ground; unfocused dirty = box_dirty a pixel inside that ring. The grid, which
has no ring, marks dirty with a bold * on box_dirty in the grip's second cell
and fills an unfocused grip halfway to its ring. Regions carry a dirty flag.
Column buttons are the same shape, solid. 2px rules between columns and
stacked panes (inside the tag band's slack), none at the window edge; a 1px
tag/body rule halfway between tag and page.
Theme data: tag_sel_bg, sweep_bg/fg, tag_rule, rule_px, rail_px, box_border,
box_dirty. Chrome: rule_px, tag_rule, rail_px, grip_border, grip_focus_ring;
a comptime guard on Chrome's layout forces a wire bump once v8 ships.
Structural rules are exempt from the focus-indicator rule (docs/effects.md).
Tests: acme widths; stacked rule in the slack at two tagline sizes; every
grip-column pixel is band, button, ring or rule, and the button shares the
scrollbar's x0/x1 (4 metrics x top/bottom x focus x dirty); the four grip
states distinct in every native theme with a non-colour dirty cue in the
grid; wire round-trip of the new fields.
Shared files: src/colors.zig, src/surface.zig, src/body_layer.zig,
src/tagline.zig, src/detached/wire.zig, docs/themes.md, docs/config.md,

recedes the other panes (InactiveDim)
Motion off|crisp|smooth|bouncy|playful is one parameter set (animation.Motion)
every fx animation reads. One focus spring per pane drives both the lift and
the dim, at the flavour's pace; a grid snaps.
Lift drops glow and surface. A shadow falls on pane bodies and rails only,
capped so text and the selection keep min(contrast, 4.5); rim is a hairline
along the focused tag's top. auto is a shadow on a light page; on a dark page
the core recedes the unfocused panes' text (InactiveDim, ported from 2e4d97f,
default 30 under auto) with the same floor. Tests: focused text contrast is
never below unfocused in any style, dim or theme; the focused pane's cells and
tag are untouched by a dim.

src/surface.zig, src/detached/wire.zig, docs/config.md,
